Early Childhood Program
Ages 3 – 6 Years
The CMS 3-6 program is designed to foster holistic development in children, emphasizing creativity, independence, and a love for learning. It integrates hands-on, experiential learning with Montessori materials and a nurturing environment, encouraging children to explore and discover at their own pace. The program places a strong emphasis on social and emotional growth, ensuring that children develop empathy, respect, and collaboration skills. Through a carefully crafted curriculum, CMS nurtures curious minds, fostering a lifelong passion for knowledge and personal growth.
At Catskill Montessori School (CMS), we deeply understand the invaluable role of outdoor play and exploration in the development of children aged 3-6, a commitment strongly supported by insights from Richard Louv's "Last Child in the Woods." Our philosophy aligns with Louv's emphasis on the profound benefits of nature immersion for young children, recognizing that regular interaction with the outdoors significantly enhances emotional well-being, creativity, and cognitive abilities.
Children who are 3 years old in the fall are welcome to join the early childhood program. Please be sure to read the early childhood readiness page.
